How do I post an ad?

Posting ads on Formee is quick, easy and free.

For private user: Just click the “Post AD” button in the top-right corner of the page and then follow the subsequent instructions.

An ad should include a convincing title and a detailed description. You can upload up to 10 images to your ad. If you don't have a Formee account yet, be sure to confirm your email address so that your ad can be brought online.

Can I use HTML tags or URLs in my ads?

Formee allows HTML (limited) and linkable URLs in ads on the site. However, if your ad only consists of links it will not be accepted. Furthermore, you are not allowed to link to other classifieds sites, even if it is only to bring attention to another ad.

How do I create an effective Ad?

An effective ad will contain a good quality photo of the relevant product; an honest description of the product - make sure to enter both the good points and the bad; enter a price that actually reflects the condition of your product; and remember to type the location accurately.

How can I post an effective AD?

You have to first fill in the form with all relevant information and fulfil all asked requirements against its product category. Then, add images of the product or images that best describes the service being sold. Finally, press submit.

Why is my Ad not live yet?

There can be various reasons why an Ad might have not gone live yet:

  • Your ad was a direct breach of our Ad-Posting Policy; a detailed email will be sent to your registered email address about why this has happened.

  • Your ad could have contained deceptive, pornographic images and/or racist words.

  • Your ad could have expired; there is a limit to how long an ad stays live.

What is the difference between a private user and a business user?

There are two types of accounts - a private account and a business account. The private account is a free account with limited features while the business account is a subscription-based account with access to premium features such as feature ads and extensive ad posting.

How do I become a seller?

To become a seller, you must subscribe and sign up to any one of the two accounts: private and business. After that, you can start uploading images of the product and writing a relevant description to be seen by the buyers.

Which account is the best fit for me?

If you want to sell items that you will not use anymore, then creating a private account will be the best option for you. On the other hand, if you want to sell items in large quantities and/or produce items that you want to sell, then creating a business account would be the best option.

How do I raise a dispute?

As a buyer, we give you the right to raise a dispute when circumstances arise. A dispute might occur when the product being sold is not as per seller’s description and/or has some kind of defect with its functioning.
 

From the Formee platform, you will generate your concerns via a complaint email to the seller.

How disputes are resolved?

After a dispute has been raised and filed, the seller has 48 hours to respond. If the seller responds, he/she will offer either a repayment or replacement.

In case he/she does not respond, the admin will take over and provide a suitable resolution. The admin will examine the case and if the seller is at fault, the buyer will receive the refunded money minus paypal charges.

How to avoid scammers?

We have efficient and accurate rating systems and feedback mechanisms plotted against each seller and the products they sell. The buyers who have bought their products are the ones who issue an honest rating and provide a brief feedback about the sellers.

What happens if I do not receive a warranty with the products?

The seller is solely responsible for providing the warranty for their products. You must remember that usually eatables and baby products do not have warranty.

What is the refund and return policy?

Each seller has its own refund and return policy based on the product nature. In case the product is not up to the mark, we have stern dispute policies in place to correct this error.

How do I find a job?

On the Formee home page, search for the “Jobs” category on the home bar. Upon click, a variety of jobs from different sectors will be displayed on your screen.

How many jobs can I post?

While private users are only allowed to post one or two ads per month, business users can post more than two ads per month. Private users do not have access to CV and resume shortlisting through the platform but business users do.

How do I report discrimination?

The ad post containing discrimination should be reported immediately. We, at Formee, have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination and harassment. In case of any such material found, we will take serious disciplinary action towards that user.

Animals
What animals can I sell?

Only animals that have a category on our website can be sold - cats, dogs, birds, fish, horses and livestock.These animal have to be properly vaccinated and tested against any diseases. It is against our policy to sell endangered species and/or exotic animals. Moreover, it is important to advertise the animals within certain legal and ethical guidelines. Avoid posting ads of animals with cropped ears, tails, wings etc. If you plan to rehome a lost animal, contacting a charity or an animal shelter is always a safer option.

How to post an effective ad for an animal?

You must provide honest information and details in your advertisement that will help the new owners make an informed decision. It is wrong to withhold information about the pet that might cause problems for the new owners later. It is preferable to use a recent photo of the animal. Furthermore, it is important to update the animal’s birth and rehoming date to avoid constant shifting from one home to another.

Why can’t I sell more than two animals on my private account?

f you plan to post ads for more than two animals per month, it suggests that you have a business in the animal sector. In that case, it is preferable that you switch to a business account where you can advertise and sell more than 2 animals a month.

Always collect the animal in person, never let the seller send the animal via post.

Is there an age limit that I have to follow before posting a pet ad?

The minimum age limit for pets to be sold on Formee is 8 weeks and older.

Dispute Resolution
How do I raise a dispute?

As a buyer, you have the right to raise a dispute when unfavourable circumstances arise.

A dispute might occur when:

  • the product being sold is not per seller’s description and/or has some kind of defect with its functionality

  • either party acts out of a professional context, in a manner which may negatively affect the other party (abusive/uncooperative behaviour)

  • either party breaches any Formee Terms of Use and/or Policies, which all members should abide by to keep a positive community environment

Through the Formee platform, you can address your concerns by sending a message to the relevant seller. The issue should first try to be jointly resolved between both parties, however if no resolution is reached within 24 hours, it is best to contact the Formee admin team who can assist you. You will have a solution within 48 hours after you ‘Report a Problem’.

How disputes are resolved?

Once the seller responds, further investigation will occur between Formee admin and the seller. In most cases, the seller will offer either a refund or replacement of the goods and/or service. In the rare case that the seller does not respond, our admin will take over and provide a suitable resolution. The admin will examine the case and if the seller is, in our opinion, at fault, the buyer will receive a credit for their transaction, minus the PayPal charges. Where necessary, Formee may assist the personal user in booking a replacement service.

How can I create a Formee Business account to offer my services?

Signing up is easy! You can visit our website www.formee.com.au or download the mobile application to register. Formee requires the following information before you can start trading:

  • Personal details (for Admin’s records only)

  • Business location

  • Business contact details

  • ID documents

  • Relevant qualifications

  • ABN/ACN number

  • Payment information

  • Police Check

On the application: Launch Formee and hit ‘Register’ and follow the prompts.

On the web: Visit www.formee.com.au and hit ‘Sign Up’, then follow the prompts.

Before submission of any personal information, please read our Privacy & Cookies Policy to understand why your personal information is collected and how it will be handled. Once submitted, please allow our customer care team 48 hours to review your business request. You will receive an email once confirmed.

Thereafter, you can login via the website or mobile application, then list your services and start making profits!

What are the requirements to become a Formee vendor?

In what radius from my location can I offer my services?

With Formee, you can offer your services anywhere within Australia.

Businesses can trade within their preferred radius of distance. You can set your preferred radius when you Sign Up, or by editing your profile Settings once you have subscribed.

What is the best way to ensure my services are selected by customers against other local competitors?

Formee recommends:

  • Using your logo as your display picture to establish your brand identity in the market

  • Providing clear product and service descriptions to the consumer (a visual reference is beneficial)

  • Research the local markets and keep your pricing competitive

  • To strive for great ratings – arrive on time, complete the job which you have quoted to the consumer, and have a positive attitude!

Why do I need to complete a background (Police) check?

Formee cares about the safety of our vendors and consumers, above all. Being an Australian business, we want everyone to have a fair experience based on ethical trade practices. Formee will treat each application on a case-by-case basis, assessing criminal histories such as:

  • Felonies

  • Sexual offences

  • Drug use or violence

  • Theft

  • Property damage offences

Formee reserves the right to cancel a vendor application if there are any offences which categorise within the above categories.

How can I add or remove skills and services?

As a vendor, you can edit your service offering and pricing via the ‘More’ tab in the mobile application, or on the website after logging in. On Formee web, first Sign in, then go into your settings to make the necessary changes.

How can I view my vendor rating?

You can view your rating by signing in to the application or website and selecting the ‘Me’ tab. The rating will appear in stars underneath your business name.

I have arrived on the job and a client has requested me to complete an additional task whilst at the location, should I do so?

Formee recommends only completing the job which you have previously quoted to the client. You can schedule another date or time to complete their other request, as you cannot change your quotation once the job has commenced. If you decide to complete the client’s request then and there, there will be no additional remuneration other than that which was prior agreed by both parties. If you do not have another appointment scheduled to follow, you could schedule another appointment directly after to complete their task and price it accordingly. Politely ask the user to accept the additional quotation whilst you are completing their other task.

It doesn’t look like I am going to complete my current appointment on time. Can I move the rest of my schedule back 30 minutes?

If you are running late, you need to individually message your clients to advise them. If you are going to be more than 1 hour late, the client can cancel their appointment and receive a full refund. Please note, this may affect your vendor rating if the client is unhappy with the late notice. Formee reserves the right to disqualify vendors on the platform if they reschedule or cancel (within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment) more than three appointments per week.

Do I need to have my own supplies and equipment?

Absolutely! You are an independent service provider. You should have all the necessary instruments/tools to complete your appointment from start-to-finish. If you have been requested to install something for the client, you can predetermine whether:

  1. The client provides the item for installation or

  2. The vendor provides and installs the item

Once discussed and agreed upon in the initial enquiry process, the vendor can provide an appropriate quotation to cover the costs of the item and/or installation.

How can I check my upcoming jobs?

You can view your upcoming jobs in the ‘Bookings’ section of the application, under the ‘Jobs’ tab. You can view your upcoming appointments in list or calendar format.

How far in advance can I schedule bookings?

On both the vendor and customer profile, users can book appointments up to 15 days in advance. Formee recommends adding the bookings to your phone calendar to service as a reminder.

What is the process for appointment confirmation requests?

  1. Customer requests job to be completed, with photo attachments and clear description of the task

  2. Vendor assesses the time it would take, equipment required and provides an appropriate quotation.

  3. Customer accepts or declines appointment. If the customer accepts, the appointment will automatically show up in the vendor’s ‘Jobs’ section. If the customer declines, the vendor will receive a ‘declined’ notification.

Formee helps vendors to ‘close the deal’ by sending a reminder notification if the customer does not approve or decline the quotation within 24 hours.

What do I do when the user has not been transparent with the appointment requirements?

If the job is not as described, the vendor is only required to complete the task which was quoted. If this is not possible, the vendor can immediately ‘Report A Problem’ whilst the job is active, ensuring that no parties are unfairly advantaged. Formee recommends taking photos of the job as supportive evidence that it is not what was requested by the user. The vendor can add an additional appointment to complete the task, or completely remove the appointment with supportive photo evidence attached to the cancellation request.

How can I complete an appointment?

Once you have completed the appointment, Formee will prompt you to add photos or write a note as supportive evidence of your hard work. This ensures that, if the customer makes a claim that you have not completed the task, we have evidence to support that you have completed the task which both parties had agreed upon. Once attached, hit ‘Complete’ and the job will be added to your ‘History’ panel.

How can I cancel an upcoming job?

Simply launch the application, view ‘Jobs’, select the job and hit ‘Cancel’.

Is there a penalty for cancelling a booking in my schedule?

Formee does not immediately penalise vendors for cancelling bookings, however if three or more bookings are cancelled or rescheduled (within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment) in one week, Formee may choose to terminate the vendor’s account. Customers may also leave negative reviews if there is a lack of communication, which may affect your rating.

What is my payout ratio?

You will receive 95% of your quoted value. Formee only takes 5% of your total quotation as fees for using our platform. For example, if you complete a job quoted at $100, you will receive $95 and Formee receives $5.

When will I be paid for my completed jobs?

Vendors are paid fortnightly for each job or service completed i.e. in 14 days from the scheduled appointment. This gives the customer some time to dispute the service provided by the vendor (if required). After this timeframe, disputes are invalid and non-refundable to the customer – which ensures your hard-earned funds are secure, in your pocket.

How can I edit my bank account details (to receive payments)?

How can I obtain a tax statement?

With the assistance of your tax advisor, you will need to prepare your quarterly statement for lodgement to the ATO, which is variable according to your income. As a contractor in compliance with Australian regulations, you will pay and organise your own taxes. Your GST calculations will be listed on your invoices. Please contact your tax consultant for any further queries in accordance with Australian tax regulations.

How will I receive my invoices?

Formee emails you a payment summary fortnightly with an outline of the jobs which you have been paid for. If you would like an individual invoice for a particular job, you can obtain this via the application in the ‘History’ tab, by selecting the job and viewing the invoice. You can download it to your smartphone via the ‘Earnings’ tab in the application.

First launch the application and select the ‘Bookings’ section. Choose which category of service you require, then view the list of providers in your area. You can click to view the vendor profiles in detail, or scroll through all available vendors. Some determinants which may help you decide which vendor to hire will be:

  • Pricing

  • Availability

  • Star rating

How does the rating system work?

When the vendor has completed a job, the customer is prompted to rate their received service in stars. This rating is averaged out with all other reviews from previous clients. This creates transparency between business and consumer, giving Formee users the opportunity to choose and receive a quality service.

How can I make a booking on the Formee website?

The website has similar functionality to the application. You can search by category, name, location, rating or price, select your vendor, then request a quote for the job at hand. You will receive a notification once the vendor has supplied you with a quotation for the job, which you can accept at your discretion, or continue to find a secondary quote

Can I re-book a vendor that I have previously hired?

Yes. If you have forgotten the business’ name, visit your ‘History’ tab to view all of your transactions. You can select the transaction then the business name, which will take you to their profile where you can request another appointment.

What permissions does Formee request for full functionality of the mobile application?

To be able to use Formee in its full capacity, you will be prompted to allow certain device permissions for functionality purposes. This includes: Camera/Photos – for uploading photos to receive quotations or take photos to complete a job/report a problem Location – to determine local vendors in your area Push notifications – to let you know when your service requests have been confirmed, or even when you receive new messages via the chat – Formee only uses this function when we have something important or exciting to tell you!

How can I save a vendor to make an enquiry at a later date?

You can click the ‘star’ icon in the top right corner of the vendor profile. This will save their details for later. If you wish to view your ‘saved’ vendors, click the ‘Me’ tab, then hit the ‘star’ icon to view all.

Who do I contact if I have questions about a job?

Formee has a messaging service which you can utilise to contact the vendor and ask questions about their service. Alternatively, you can contact the Formee customer care team who will give advice on hiring vendors. You can find these details on our Contact Us page. (Do not give out the details immediately, they need to use the automation as much as possible. We give out the support call centre only when necessary).

What if I am unsatisfied with a vendor’s service?

If users have an undesirable experience with a provider, they can ‘report a problem’ and Formee will mediate the issue at their request. To report a vendor, visit the vendor’s profile either while the job is still active or when complete, by hitting the ‘History’ tab. In your history, you can view your completed bookings – click the profile you wish to report – hit the report button and select from the list of issues. Our support team will quickly revert back to you within 48 hours.

What do I do if a provider cancels within 24 hours of the scheduled time?

Although we like to guarantee that vendors won’t cancel, sometimes things happen out-of-the-blue and they cannot attend to your appointment. Don’t despair – there is still plenty of time to find another provider! Visit the Bookings page to find another vendor who is available at your requested time. Vendors like to book appointments on the same day, as they receive incentives from Formee for booking users who need urgent help. If you would like to leave a review on the vendor that cancelled with little notice, you can leave a star rating on their profile.
